FEBBRUS | Toscana Rosso I.G.T.
«Atque omnium primum ad cursus lunae in duodecim menses discribit annum».
(Tito Livio, Ab Urbe condita libri, I)
It is said that Numa Pompilius, the second king of Rome, would fix the norms of the sacred right and the calendar, adding two months (January and February) to the ten instituted by Romulus: after having dedicated January to Janus, the god of passage, he dedicated the month of February to Februus, deities first Etruscan and then Latin, patron saint of the purification that was carried out at the end of the Roman religious year.
Hence the name of this is our Ciliegiolo, a native Tuscan vine, cultivated for centuries in Maremma.

TASTING NOTES
Intense red with violet reflections, firm, consistent with pleasing hints of ripe cherry, red fruit, and delicate hints of aromatic herbs. The palate is structured, harmonious, and velvety.
Ciliegiolo: black grape variety originating from the central area of Tuscany. It owes its name to the color of the berry and to one of its primary aromas, which recalls cherry. The clusters are compact, and elongated, with pyramidal shapes. The blackberries with violet reflections are rather large with a thick skin and juicy flesh.
MATCHING
Excellent as an aperitif, particularly suitable to accompany the tasty first courses of the Tuscan tradition.
